I usually prefer to take my outfit pictures outdoors but for this look I just felt like giving the whole photo series something doll house-esque. With this look I strayed a little from what I’m currently wearing on a daily basis but the idea for this look just struck me and didn’t disappear from my mind anymore.
As of late I’ve been loving these kinds of t-shirts as they have a very grown-up look to them and are very versatile. I got several of them during the past couple of months and they’ve been my loyal companions throughout spring and summer. This white one is from H&M. For this look I decided to wear another white tanktop underneath. However, in the meantime I reconsidered and, depending on the occasion, I actually find it more interesting and romantic to let a beautiful black lace bra shine through.
I then paired the very casual top with this super feminine tulle maxi skirt. A tulle skirt instantly adds a ton of romantic vibes to a look so I decided to keep the rest down. The skirt needs room to shine so I didn’t want any patterns or colors rivaling it. The skirt is from Ever Pretty and it’s actually part of a dress. However, one of the reasons I decided to get this dress was that I could already see myself incorporating this romantic skirt into heaps of different outfits. Don’t know how you guys feel but for me seeing someone wear a tulle skirt just seems to add a little fairytale element to everyday life. Like the girl wearing it was actually the princess of some mystical realm disguising as a busy 21st century woman. Or maybe she’s about to just ditch the smartphone, ditch the job, ditch the coffee to go and run away to live on a little secluded cottage in Southern France amidst lavender fields. Whenever I see a girl in a tulle skirt it makes me want to walk up to her and ask: “What’s your story?”.
By adding plain but not too delicate accessories I gave the whole outfit a more wearable twist. I’ve forever been obsessed with chokers as they have both a romantic look and this awesome subtle sexiness to them. Creating looks that are right at the borderline is a challenge I absolutely enjoy.
