Summer doesn’t seem to end. And I’m loving it. So after traveling to beautiful Estonia (yes, there’s gonna be a travel post soon!) I am currently enjoying late summer back home, taking trips into nature and absorbing the last summer heat. For this weather I love to wear something effortless and flowy, yet very true to my style. Some might find it a bit odd that I prefer long black dresses on summer days but this maxi dress * from boohoo is definitely the perfect choice for me. Although it’s long the slits give me that barelegged summer feel that just makes me want to dip my feet into the cool, clear water of the lake while walking its shore.
The material is really stretchy so it hugs my cruves perfectly and creates that feminine hourglass silhouette. I feel like a black maxi dress is – like its’ shorter counterpart the LBD – such a versatile piece that could be worn for a fancy dinner as well as barefoot with swimwear underneath. I love clothing items that allow me to maintain my dark romantic gothic-y, witchy style even when going to the beach or taking a stroll though nature.
Now where are the accessories? I am actually wearing a golden half moon necklace and a velvet choker, however, they are pretty much fully hidden underneath my hair – sorry ’bout that 😀 I considered wearing a belt with this black maxi dress but the dress looked so flawless and complete all in itself that I simply decided not to overdo it here. However, as the sun goes down I would probably add a kimono or long knit cardigan for warmth. I’d then put on a pair of fluffy socks and boots and start a fire, watching its red and orange and yellow flames against the backdrop of the still green lake and the dark forest. I’d hear my fire crackle and an owl in the distance while watching the bats fly overhead as the stars come out. This look gives me such a Canada feel. <3
